What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique using a specially honed blade that glides across the surface of the skin, removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair.
Will the hair grow back darker and thicker?
No. Dermaplaning will only cut the hair off at the surface level, so it cannot alter the root of the hair.
Do you dermaplane on dry skin, or do you use oil?
At Evolve Esthetics, an oil is always used with dermaplaning so the skin has a hydrating, protective barrier which helps to prevent knicks or cuts on the skin.
What should I do after my facial?
Do not sweat for 24 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure. Change your pillowcase so you’re not sleeping on old skincare, haircare, sweat, or saliva. Discontinue use of retinol (Vitamin A) products for 72 hours. Follow all home care recommendations given by your esthetician.
